My emotions scare me to no end…

     Shacarn, groggy from being thrown out of the ship looked around. He remembered grabbing hold of Suzy as they hit the jagged rocks that tore apart the ship. His eyes fell on her, laying there. She was motionless, Shalcarn’s heart almost stopped. He was already convince that it was no use as he dragged himself to her. Shalcarn saw that she seemed not to be breathing. Scared for her life he managed to pull himself close enough to feel for a pulse. After what seemed to be an eternity he found it, her pulse. As faint as it was, it was still a pulse, Suzy was alive.

I plan to post an rough idea for an paragraph in my book every once in a while. This is so that people may see it and sent me suggestions or questions about the entry. I might as well explain the book here:
       A group of people who are tricked into sailing to an island bathed in the magic that is not present anywhere else in the world. They will be stuck on this island and have to deal with problems beyond their control. Back in their  homelands an war is raging, and it does not take long for the protagonist’s father the realize a trap that had been shut behind his son and would effect the whole world.
